Affordable Connectivity Program Update

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) benefit which provides a monthly $30 credit toward your Surge LinkTM bill. The ACP stopped accepting new applications and enrollments on February 8th.

What is happening?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which operates the ACP, has announced that if Congress does not provide additional funding, April will be the last month ACP households will receive the full ACP discount they have received in prior months.

What does this mean for you?

If no additional funding is provided to the program, the ACP discount will no longer be available.

What are my options if the ACP funds run out?

The City of Syracuse will provide a discount for households enrolled in Surge LinkTM, resulting in a $10 out-of-pocket monthly cost for service. We believe this discount makes Surge LinkTM the most affordable high-speed internet option available in Syracuse.

What do I need to do?

If you want to keep your Surge LinkTM service for $10/month, no action is required, and you will see a $10 charge reflected on your May bill.
